Unusual differential behavior can raise questions about traction, noise, and power delivery. Certified Transmission in Bellevue, NE can evaluate drivetrain concerns and discuss available service options. This video provides background on differential operation and differences in wheel speed.
Differential Operation and Wheel Traction
The driven wheels need to rotate at different speeds when a vehicle turns. How a differential distributes torque when traction differs depends on its design and the vehicle's related systems.
Diagnosing Differential Concerns
Whining, clunking, vibration, or leaks can have several causes. Inspection helps determine whether the concern involves fluid condition, bearings, gears, seals, or another drivetrain component.
